Purpose of the Role
The Translator (Arabic↔ English) will serve as a shared linguistic resource supporting all business operations across Frontier25 and The Climate Tribe. The role ensures accurate, timely, and culturally attuned translation and interpretation of materials spanning operational, legal, policy, communications, and creative outputs.
This role requires a translator who is fluent in Arabic that is UAE-relevant, with an understanding of local expressions, cultural nuances, and institutional terminology. By bridging English and Arabic communication, the Translator will help ensure all materials are clear, credible, and contextually appropriate for both regional and international audiences.
Key Responsibilities
Translation & Interpretation
- Translate a broad range of materials, including contracts, agreements, policies, official documents, reports, correspondence, presentations, and creative content, subtitles for film and social media captions from Arabic to English and vice versa.
- Provide interpretation services during meetings, workshops, and events as required.
- Proofread and edit translated materials to ensure linguistic accuracy, consistency, and cultural relevance.
- Ensure translations of legal and operational materials meet the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.
- Adapt tone and phrasing to reflect UAE linguistic and cultural context while maintaining the integrity of the original meaning.
Operational & Organisational Support
- Act as a shared resource supporting translation needs across all departments, including Legal, Operations, Communications, Finance, HR, and Partnerships.
- Support the People, Culture & Operations Team with bilingual policies, employee communications, and engagement materials.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure clarity and consistency in all translated content.
- Prioritise multiple requests effectively while maintaining high quality and confidentiality.
Content Localisation & Brand Alignment
- Localise and adapt content for the UAE and wider MENA audience while preserving organisational tone.
- Ensure that translations represent the institutional professionalism of Frontier25 and the creative, community-focused identity of The Climate Tribe.
- Collaborate with communications and content teams to prepare bilingual materials for publications, campaigns, and digital platforms.
- Contribute to the development of bilingual tone-of-voice guidelines and a UAE-relevant terminology glossary.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Arabic Language, English Language, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ professional experience in Arabic–English translation, preferably within UAE-based organisations or regional contexts.
- Demonstrated experience translating legal, policy, and institutional content, as well as creative and communications materials.
- Excellent command of Modern Standard Arabic and UAE-relevant Arabic, alongside advanced English proficiency.
- Strong understanding of local dialects, cultural nuances, and terminology relevant to the UAE.
- Experience managing diverse translation tasks under tight timelines.
